
Recently, a 14-member expert delegation led by Yang Zhinan, Director of Hebei Iron and Steel Laboratory of North China University of Science and Technology (NCUST), Zhang Ruicheng, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, and Zhang Peng, Vice Dean of the School of Metallurgy and Energy, visited Xingtai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xingtai Steel") for industry-university-research cooperation and exchange activities. Tian Xinzhong, Chief Engineer and Assistant to the Chairman & General Manager of Xingtai Steel, attended the technical exchange and docking meeting and extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from NCUST.
Tian Xinzhong noted that the cooperation between Xingtai Steel and NCUST has a long-standing history. He expressed gratitude to NCUST for its long-term strong support in high-end product R&D, achievement transformation, and talent cultivation. He emphasized the hope of deepening the cooperation mechanism and expanding cooperation areas through this technical exchange, jointly building an industry-university-research exchange and cooperation platform in fields such as high-end bearing steel, high-purity iron, remelted steel, wind-solar-storage integration, and mechanical metallurgy, so as to accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements into new quality productive forces.

Yang Zhinan fully affirmed Xingtai Steel's influence and achievements in the special steel wire rod sector. He focused on introducing the basic situation and development orientation of Hebei Iron and Steel Laboratory (Yanzhao Iron and Steel Laboratory), expressing the intention to leverage the resource advantages of the laboratory and NCUST to provide high-quality technical services, promote achievement transformation, help enterprises effectively solve key and difficult problems, and offer strong technical support for Xingtai Steel's transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development.


The two parties conducted in-depth discussions and extensive exchanges on multiple topics, including the R&D of high-end pure iron and microalloyed steel, the improvement of cracks and surface decarburization in alloy cold heading steel, the tackling of segregation and network cementite in high-carbon steel, the product planning and quality improvement of remelted steel, and the intelligent control of wind power projects. The on-site seminar featured a enthusiastic atmosphere, which not only deepened the understanding of relevant issues but also expanded ideas for solutions. This has laid a solid technical foundation for Xingtai Steel's future high-end product R&D, quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction.
In addition, Dong Qing, Executive Deputy Director of the Technology Center, accompanied the NCUST expert delegation on a visit to the Xingtai Steel Exhibition Hall. He provided a detailed introduction to the company's development history, product positioning, technical advantages, application fields, and future plans, enabling the visiting team to gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Xingtai Steel.
